Summer Tanka 2022 #1
We're now in July
and still don't see a cloudless sky
as spring rains persist.
The moss is growing unchecked
and the muggy air pervades.
I watch my son play
with the hose in our back yard
spraying rosemary,
both hands around the nozzle
and knuckles white from effort.
